  • Pre-Qualifying Exam Information for Juniors

    Pre-Qualifying Exam Information for Juniors

    Date - May 19, 2025

Time - During your shop class

Location - In your shop class

What is the test like?  60 questions from the General study guide

How do I study? Use the study guide and/or the APP

What do I need to bring on test day? Calculator, pen, and pencil

What does it take to pass?  65

    What if I pass?

You complete a requirement for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) endorsement, which is required to earn the Advanced Regents Diploma.  Earning the CTE endorsement and the Advanced Regents Diploma improves the overall quality of your college application, improving the likelihood of getting accepted into your desired college and hopefully improving the scholarship money each college offers you.

    What if I fail?

You may retake the test, next year, as a senior.  Failure to ever pass the Pre-Qualifying exam means that you are not eligible for a CTE endorsement and therefore not eligible for an Advanced Regents Diploma.
